How to maintain your full lace wig
Jul 6th
The duration of time in which you will wear your lace wig is directly dependent on how well you take care of it. In most cases, a lace wig should last you approximately six (6) month if you take good care of it. So, as a guide we provide this care tip for you to use on your full lace wig:
Items needed
Wig adhesive remover
Wide tooth comb
Shampoo and conditioner
Foam mannequin head
Storage
Remember that whenever you are not wearing your full lace wig, you should place it on the mannequin head. This significantly lessens the chance of the wig knotting and tangling.
Entangling
Before you begin cleaning, comb the lace wig evenly beginning with a wide tooth comb and then a narrower one once all the knots have been straightened. This step reduces the tug on the hair and prevents premature shedding.
Glue remover
If you have being using any kind of glue on your wig, spray non-oil based adhesive glue remover around the perimeter of the lace wig hairline.
Shampooing and conditioning
The next step is shampooing and conditioning the lace wig. This step should be done no more than once every two weeks, if possible. This can be done while wearing the wig or setting it on a mannequin head, although the use of cool water to thoroughly rinse the hair should be kept consistent.
Drying
Allow the lace front wig to air dry after washing. Again, for best results make sure you place the wig on a mannequin.
